5IBA is an industry standard  Apr 10, 2009
This product and brand is recommended industry-wide. I have used it on everything from Morus (Mulberry) cuttings to dormant Ficus (fig) cuttings with nearly perfect success. The key is to know your species. Dipping willy-nilly as an amateur and hoping the best is a waste of effort. Some cuttings will root from dormant cuttings some require spring cuttings to do well.

1Very disappointing!  Dec 15, 2008
I tired Dip 'N Grow on several different "woods" (soft, medium and hard), but had no luck growing any roots from fresh-cut branches, as per the claim. Each type of wood required a different solution, and was meticulously applied and tracked. The company does not back their claims, either. I was much better off taking some of the cuttings, such as the umbrellat tree, and germinating with Miracle Grow.
